PHILADELPHIA - Just minutes after reports surfaced of a revised deal between the Philadelphia Eagles andDonovan McNabb, the team officially announced the signing of a new 12-year contract with the quarterback.

The record-breaking contract is worth up to $115 million, which includes a signing bonus of $20.5 million and a roster bonus of $17 million. McNabb's average salary under the new deal is $9.58 million per year, which makes him the highest-paid player in Eagles history.

The restructured deal replaces the final two years of McNabb's previous contract, which was set to expire in 2011. The new contract keeps McNabb under contract with the Eagles through the 2020 season.

McNabb is entering his 12th season with the Eagles. He has been to the Pro Bowl five times and led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl appearance in 24 years in 2004.

The Eagles are hoping that the new contract extension will help them keep McNabb in Philadelphia for the rest of his career. McNabb has said that he wants to finish his career with the Eagles, and the team is committed to making that happen.

The Eagles are scheduled to open their season on September 13th against the Carolina Panthers. McNabb will be looking to lead the Eagles to their first Super Bowl victory since 1960.
